Tropical Island

~Mimicat Collab Puzzle 7~ Seven is a nice number, so for this 7th edition of my jigsaw puzzles, my guest 3D artist is Mimicat from Japan – she can do wonders with Vue rendering! This is also a new AS3 puzzle engine. I had to rewrite it because it was only working with square images (1:1 aspect ratio). The new code now supports standard 4:3 aspect ratio images, which makes the majority of what I post in my gallery. This also means that the puzzles now feature 108 pieces – getting closer to how real jigsaws are. Nonetheless I could still finish this one in about 18 minutes, which was the average time for most people with the older 81 piece puzzles I have posted before. I am sure you guys can do better! 🙂 There are several other improvements, like smooth initial puzzle preview, keyboard compatibility with MacIntosh computers (SHIFT+Click to rotate now!), a smooth preview (5 seconds long), web browser-friendly music volume keys, and CPU accelerated graphics (no special video cards required). «Tropical Island» 3D image was kindly provided by https://mimicat.deviantart.com/.
