The Perpetual Machine

Far away on distant lands, long since forgotten by human kind. Overgrown, and silent a great fortress stands. Within the thick stone walls of this mighty structure there is a machine. An unusual machine. An incredible machine. It is something abstract… Its counting something but I don’t know what… Constantly counting… And it will keep counting untill the end of time… What is it counting?
