TGWTG versus Dr. Insano

Whee, using quotes out of their context is fun! Tried to draw the reviewers in their respective title card art styles, which is why most of them look different. While I can do a decent Masterthecreator and Andrew Dickman imitation.. I think… I can barely hang onto Marobot’s style. And obviously ShaunMt’s uber realistic style for the Cinema Snob becomes a real disaster here. And accidentally used Lupa’s manic episode artstyle rather then the regular reviews, and I discovered Angry Joe’s animation only when I was halfway trough making this and..argh.. Ah well.. Uh, okay, you’ll probably have a few questions, so allow me to turn back into cynical blabbering asshole mode for a moment. There we are. Q. Wow, you got the Thatguywiththeglasses gang to voice act for you? A: of course not. I ripped the audio from their videos. Hahaha. Q. Can you do that? A: Why yeah, freedom of parody and stuff. Plus considering their own work is taking footage from movies, I’d consider it poetry. Q. I guess you hate Filmbrain. And Love Linkara. A: The movie doesn’t represent my personal feelings about the people in question most of the time. The jokes that resulted from the catchphrases are the foundation of the movie, not my personal opinions. Just hearing my opinion would be boring, no? Filmbrain just happens to have a lot of catchphrases that work perfectly for dying lines, so he turned into a Kenny here. And Linkara had the most and the best out of context lines, even tough he’s ironically my least favorite of the gang, go figure. Q: Where’s Phelous and Benzaie and Marzgirl and Todd in the Shadows and Oan citizen and.. A: Dude. It’s not easy keeping track, learning to draw, animating and digging up voice clips for 7 main characters, let alone all 50.000 people on TGWTG’s site. Basically the way I picked the people: A)They need to speak clear English so the fact their lines are out of context won’t make them impossible to understand. (Bye Benzaie) B) They need to speak naturally and not too «I’m reading this from a script» ish. (Bye Marzgirl) C) They need to talk normal sentences outside of only doing straight reviewing, because straight review lines are not really useful here. (Bye Oan Citizen) So I picked the people with the most usable lines (Critic, Snob, Linkara, Filmbrain, Lupa) added Spoony as Insano to save me for coming up with my own generic villain, threw in Nostalgia chick and Angry joe as a bonus despite barely having material for them, and voila. Not saying the disqualified people are bad reviewers or I don’t like them, as I said, my feelings have nothing to do with this, only in how useful they are for out of context quote purposes. Q: What a unique Idea for a movie! A: Heh, I thought that. Unfortunatly I was surprised to see someone already did a movie like this on youtube, for Mr. Plinkett no less. Plus I guess Youtube poops have the same idea. Still, rarely people use footage from more then one video, let alone the entire website’s history. Not to mention I’m much more smarter and funnier then the general youtube pooper of course, oh- ho ho ho. Q: What’s up with the generic FBI lady? A: Well, as much as I’d like to have the entire movie to be only made out of TGWTG quotes, I needed at least ONE customizable voiced character to give the jokes SOME sort of context and foundation to follow. Every time I have to think of a generic character, a white male is always the default result, so this time I went into the complete opposite direction and made the blank slate character a tanned women. And thus random FBI person was born. Q: I bet you love TGWTG’s site and reviews. A: Eh, they’re okay. I’m more of a Red Letter media fan, prefer the in-depth analysis. And their sense of humor fits me better. Never the less I always Enjoy Lupa and Brad’s work. And Spoony has some good video’s, and I like Guru Larry and.. Well,I get some enjoyment out of most of the gang. Tough I have to admit, some of Linkara and Doug’s video’s make me uncomfortable to watch. To much negative vibe. Q: Why did you make this? A: Because I always want to have sound to listen to when animating, so I watch TGWTG’s video’s a lot. After a while, some catchphrases or lines they say stick in my head as a joke, so after a while I started collecting every sentence I heard that amused me. And this movie is the result. Q: Think they’ll love this animation? A: Heh, to be honoust, no. Especially Filmbrain/ Critic and Linkara, everytime they attack a comedy they dislike, they’re always bitching about jokes that amused me. So we probably have a diffrent taste. But whatever, i made this for my own amusement. If I hear something, I’ll let you know. (Update, I got Lupa’s ( [link] ) Welshy’s ( [link] ) Benzaie’s ( [link] ) Linkara’s (He faved this, at least.) and even Doug’s ( [link] ) blessing.) Q: Why does Linkara’s ninja suit only have one shoulderpad? And what is it attouched too? A: Mhuahahaha. Q: Now you’ve written a novel worth of commentary now, might as well give quick reviews of the critics featured in this movie. A: Sure. From best to worse: Snob The good: That voice. Positive vibe. Able to prove his credentials with one sharp quip. The bad: The constant swearing doesn’t really gel with his Roger Ebert personality. Lupa The good: Fun, positive vibe. Good pacing. The bad: I got nothing specific. Spoony The good: When tightly scripted or acompanied with Brad, he’s very smart and funny. The bad: Unscripted with no Brad in sight and he tends to rant on too long. Filmbrain The good: Does proper research and analysis on why movies work or not. The bad: He talks like an disappointed father lecturing his teenage son. Because of this negative vibe his jokes rarely register with me. Nostalgia chick The good: Has some very unique and interesting obervations about movies. The bad: The sketches with her friends don’t fit well with her arm chair critic review style. Angry Joe The good: Energy, cool voice. The bad: Nothing really. Just straightforward reviews. Nostalgia critic The good: Can be very funny, and seems a nice guy in real life. Sometimes some sharp observations. The bad: He comes across like a school bully in his videos. Loves to go for jokes on a cosmetic level (laughing at a character for being ugly or talking funny, regardless if that’s relevant to the movie’s plot or not). His jokes tend to go on too long and the punchlines are too weak. Keeps flip flopping his opinion. Linkara The good: Well, he was a quote goldmine. Wears a hat. I kinda like 90’s kid. Is a good co-reviewer for movies. The bad: Unforgiving in freedom of artstyle. Time spend on flaws is unbalanced. I don’t understand how his sketches are supposed to work or fit with the review. I don’t like the negative vibe.
