Since I wanted this to be a surprise, I didn’t inquire about the proper coloring, and after scouring the commissioner’s gallery, I couldn’t find any hints for what to do. So, I jumped into this one blind, and came up with my own color scheme. The character is a vampire, but had this gentle grace in her step and visage, so I didn’t want her to appear too terribly aggressive. I was watching Planet Earth this afternoon, and noticed that there are cave worms that hang from the ceiling, and use a bright blue light in its tail to lure prey into mucus strand traps to devour it. So I got a similar idea. Vampires are still predatory in lore, so while I wanted her to look non-aggressive, the caveat is the subtly incandescent blue fabric draping from her hips. The choice of blonde hair was to accent the blue even further, and to act as a middle tone between the skin and background colors. I chose a strong jade color for the background, strictly out of my own inspiration from playing Batman: Arkham Asylum. No other reason.
