Rosa Parks was an African American civil rights activist who fought for equal rights for all people. Parks lived during a time when blacks and people of other races were treated unfairly. Segregation is the separation of people by race, religion, or other reason. In the 1950s, there were segregated theaters, restaurants, bathrooms, and buses. Blacks and people of other races did not go to the same schools as whites. In this movie, you’ll find out how Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. You’ll learn how this act started the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
