Cloaking demo part 2 a friend pointed out to me that the cloak effect is only as good as being moving on the background. but I proofed him wrong that a character walking behind the cloaked character will also get bend but, theres a limitation to this effect is that you cant do a feature animation of your character who is cloaked, cause as more and more artifacts come in, it will get more and more laggy and intensive. this effect is best used for short 10second scenes like a predator cloaking away into the jungle and then moving off with the effect seen and not just a cheap «alpha out» effect or a protoss armada appearing out from their cloaking field. without the use of any secondary effects software to do it. did anybody else actually did this effect before or am I the first one to claim this effect lol, some friends told me about the run-time bitmap cache can achieve this effect too, but its only able to use for movieclips and it screws up if the movieclip has alot of symbols in it. and i dun really like to work with movieclips anyway lol.
