Bane of Gluttony
EDIT: THIS IS NO LONGER BEING WORKED ON
Now that school’s finally done for the semester, I finally had some time to implement some QoL features that should’ve been in a long time ago. 😡
Among those include saving/loading, resting/waiting in combat, and a temporary map.
As always, everything is subject to change and all numbers/descriptions/etc. have not been balanced or tuned.
Full list of changes:
– World/map loading has been further optimized thanks to Serule
- Zones will only load near the player, «leading» the player based on the most recent direction traveled in
- Optimization of 100% to over 5000% (time reduced down to <0.1s, from 0.1s to over 0.5s)
– Save files have been fixed to work with quests (hopefully) and have been re-enabled
– Added in-game time/clock
– Added player metabolism which affects fat conversion
– Added resting to overworld
- Resting is currently fixed to one hour intervals
- Resting restores 10% of your max health per hour
- Resting digests a large portion of what's in your stomach, converting it into fat at a slightly higher rate than if you were traveling
- Note that since resting takes an entire hour, it will look like it digests way more than it would if you were traveling because traveling only takes a few minutes
- If you're resting on a space with potential enemy or event encounters, you can still be interrupted and trigger an encounter while resting, albeit at a significantly reduced probability
- Resting causes a slight decrease in metabolism which increases fat conversion (accordingly, moving causes a slight increase in metabolism which decreases fat conversion)
– Added waiting to combat to just skip your turn
– Added a few digestive items to the apothecary that instantly digest a percentage of your stomach capacity at a significantly increased fat conversion rate than even resting
– Added a new temporary map and re-enabled map/mini-map functions – I quickly realized how impossible it is to navigate without a map
– Miscellaneous bug fixes, among other things

UPDATE v0.8.2.1
Hot-fixed bug that made it impossible to kill anything after completing the force-feeding quest in the forest. When you reached maximum capacity, you would "die" from a food coma but then come back to life with 1 HP. Problem was the game still thought you were dead, so it wouldn't properly register some commands.
I should also note that save files should not work between different versions. This is to avoid possible incompatibilities while things are still early in development.
