A Scarlet Letter Christmas
Dedicated to any student who has had to endure through the novel, The Scarlet Letter by Nathinel Hawthorne.
Set to the tune of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
I present:
Hester The Sinning Puritan!
Hester the Sinning Puritan,
Had a very shiney «A» (It was scarlet!)
And if you ever saw it,
You would probably run away,
All of the other Puritans,
Used to shun and call her names, (Like adultress!)
They never let poor little Pearl,
Join in any puritan games.
Then on starry evening,
Dimmesdale came to say,
«Hester with your A so bright,
Won’t you join me on the scaffold tonight?»
Then all the puritans shunned her,
as they shouted out with glee,
Hester the sinning puritan,
You’ll go down in ignomy!
Merry Christmas!
