Lord Percival Mc.Toog’s Luncheon had gotten off to a weary start. The flowers were crushed, the wine was young and the guests were rained on. Yet though all was looking flat, nothing could raze the hopes of the Earl, who in his more sullen moments could still oft be heard giving a muted whistle. But Lo, though happy picnic prospects were stunted as the summer’s weather reached it’s nadir, with the Earl, hope sprang eternal, for today there was Antonio. The Gallant knight -a champion of the tourney circuit- had now (in gentler times) turned his eye towards the business of food and the transportation of same. If, he made clear, one could find a destination not too moistend by a heaven’s soggy sorrow, the once dashing brawler could dash the largest meal through the iffiest terrain and conjure the most unreachable picnic ideal a reality. So it was, with amazing speed and comforting steadfastness, and after his lord’s customary exhortation, off Antonio set to secure a meal most hearty.
