11SecClub February2013 Storyboard

I’ll be attempting to make an animation for this month’s 11 Second Club contest. It should be simple enough. I had the characters designed, and made in Flash on day 1. Now I have a storyboard. Oh, and I also want critique on the board. It’s not much, but I want an overall opinion if this is how I should put together the animation. I’ll be using the rigs of the characters you see at the end of the animation… rather, they’re not really «rigged.» I think I’ll draw all of the necessary poses with the rigs. Key poses/frames will be made soon. My take on this story: «My take on this? I haven’t watched the movie, or the scene it’s from. However, I figure that there is a ‘Father’ character, and a ‘Son’ character. I imagine the father to be this rather intimidating man wearing a suit; dressed up for the occasion of visiting the grave site. The son, however, is different than him in almost every way, except that he also has black hair in a similar style, but a bit messy. For whatever reason, I figured meeting at a cemetery would be suitable (probably in front of the Mother’s tombstone). The son would still wear his usual clothing, despite having to apologize for doing that before at the funeral (supposedly). And well, perhaps the fact he’s wearing Crocs isn’t the only reason for his father’s grudge; I also made the son wear a pink RD cutie mark shirt, and shorts as well. I didn’t draw in the pink pony shirt in the board though since I only wanted to show the timing, and key poses.» Good critiques that are made will be taken into consideration, and I plan to tweak my storyboard if I get it soon enough. Edit: I asked a friend for an opinion, and made changes accordingly. The updated one is now posted. I’ll be starting keys shortly.
